Josu has a Degree in Law, specializing in Corporate Law from the University of Deusto (1980). He has been Associate professor of civil law (Honoris Causa) at the Constantinian University (2005). He is a member of the Bar Associations of Bizkaia, Madrid, Malaga, Cantabria, Pamplona, Burgos and Barcelona. He is a member of Res Publica, the Spanish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, the Basque Academy of Law, and the British Council. He is an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Bilbao and a member of Eurolaw, the International Trademark Association, the European Community Trademark Association, the International Bar Association, Alliuris, and the National Association of Security in the Software Environment.
He has wide experience in Commercial Law, Industrial and Intellectual Law, Sports Law, Administrative, Procedural Law and Criminal Law.
In the course of his professional life, he has been involved in a diverse range of corporate restructuring and merger proceedings, including both publicly traded and private corporations. He has taken part in arbitrations and mediations at the national level and has vast experience with industrial business management, having been managing director as well as having experience with many Insolvency proceedings.
