The ranking of passports published by the web (www.passportindex.org) places, in its 2020 yearbook, the Portuguese passport as the third most valuable worldwide, according to the global mobility it provides. According to this website specialized in second residences and nationalities, the Portuguese travel document obtains a total score of 171 in the international mobility ranking, being 179 the highest score obtained. Furthermore, this medium places Portugal as the second-best global destination for international investors who wish to obtain a second residence.

The Portuguese travel document is once again at the top places of the list elaborated by Henley & Partners' auditors who have been studying, since 2006, in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), visa regulations of all countries and territories worldwide, as well as global travel restrictions. This list (www.henleypassportindex.com) includes the Portuguese passport in the seventh place of its global ranking composed by 107 groups of countries. According to this Firm, specialized in international relocation and investment, the Portuguese passport allows to travel to 185 international destinations without the need of obtaining a visa.
